What’s going on in here?
Welcome back to Leave Me Alone! I’m in Here!
Every other week, I invite you into my room, where I’m watching, reading, listening, and dreaming. The door only stays open for a little while, so get comfy while you can…
What am I watching?

I’ve been watching a lot lately! New shows, new movies, old movies that are new to me. I’m feeling very productive at the moment.
Here’s what I’m into right now:
The Secret Agent. I saw this with a friend last week and I cried and cried. I loved this movie, even more than I loved director Kleber Mendonça Filho’s previous film, Bacurau, which I really fucking loved. Wagner Moura is outrageously talented, and I think may be my dream pick for this year’s Best Actor Oscar. If it’s still in a theater near you, go see it.
Letterkenny. I watched the first few seasons of Letterkenny years ago, then dropped off because there’s just too much TV out there. I’ve embarked on a rewatch/full watch, and I’m having a blast. The fact that co-creator, co-writer, director and cast member Jacob Tierney (of Heated Rivalry) was an original member of the Midnight Society on Are You Afraid of the Dark? is extremely important to me, personally.
Love Story. I was admittedly skeptical about how this series based on the relationship between John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette would turn out, but so far it’s fantastic. Sarah Pidgeon is excellent as Bessette, and it really captures the early 90s vibe, down to some great needle drops that aren’t the obvious choices.
Send Help. A fun time at the movies! Rachel McAdams is as great as she always is, and after seeing Dylan O’Brien in Twinless and now here, I’m really impressed by him. Looking forward to seeing what he does next.
I watch a movie every day, and this year I’m really hoping to see more international films, more classic films, and more queer films. Follow me on Letterboxd to see what I’m logging every day!
What am I listening to?

I have a job that involves a lot of tasks that I get to sit and do by myself mostly without interruption. Currently, these songs are on repeat while I do my little tasks:
Right Back to It by Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman
Elvis Presley Blues by Gillian Welch
Ankles by Lucy Dacus
Human Behavior by Björk
What am I crying about?

My late thirties have become a time to cry, and I’m embracing it. Here’s what’s getting me this week:
The Secret Agent, as mentioned above.
A really nice compliment about my work from my friend (and editor) Ben. Thanks, Ben!
Thought about my childhood for too long.
Punch, the little monkey who runs to her cloth mother when the other monkeys are mean to her.
What am I thinking about?
This week, other things I feel like talking about include:

The snow is back! And this time, it’s serious. I guess? As I write this, it has definitely begun in earnest. I wouldn’t have asked for it, but I’m considerably more sanguine about it than last time, maybe because two weeks of near zero temperatures aren’t following it.
Everything I want to do this year. I have a lot of ideas about things I want to write, ideas for MovieJawn, and places I want to go. It’s almost March, and 2026 is off to a weird and not so great start for all of us. More to come, and better days ahead, I hope.
Yes, I was at Booth’s Corner again. I was only going to get one little friend this time, but they looked so cute together I couldn’t leave one behind. So here they are, along with my DVD haul. I’m especially psyched for the Harrison Ford triple feature disc that includes Witness, Patriot Games, and What Lies Beneath.

What am I working on?

I had an interview run on MovieJawn last week! I interviewed Dalila Droege, a filmmaker I met back in 2023 at my first Salem Horror Fest. Her debut feature, No More Time, screened at SHF and is now available to stream. Read our conversation here and check out No More Time!
Speaking of Salem Horror Fest, we’ve been making plans and getting ready for MovieJawn’s participation this year. This will be my fourth time at the fest, and it’s a blast every year. If you love horror and want to spend some time in Witch City, get passes here!
My latest Viewers Like Us column will run this week. Stay tuned!
VideoJawn goes live tomorrow night! Join me and my MJ colleague, Genevieve Radosti, for our monthly Instagram Live show where we celebrate all things physical media. We’ll be live on MovieJawn’s Instagram at 8pm EST.
The Winter 2025 print issue of MovieJawn is still available. Click here to get your copy, and stay tuned for a preorder link for Spring 2026!
This week’s list theme is my favorite new-to-me watches of 2025. Check out my list, and let me know if you watch any of my recommendations!
Now get out of my room!
That’s it for this edition of Leave Me Alone! I’m in Here!
If you’ve read any part of this, I am so grateful! I hope to see you back here again soon.
